This is the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) from Germanwings 9525. It gives you a good idea of just how violent the crash was. Despite its condition, investigators have said that they have managed to retrieve some data from it, but it has not yet yielded any clues to the cause of the crash. Earlier reports that the Flight Data Recorder had been found are not correct.

Jesus... That thing had to of gone straight into the side of the mountain at cruising speed or higher....
Also, this has not been a good year for Airbus...

It hasn't?
And yes, the plane flew into the side of a steep valley at its cruising speed. There's nothing left much bigger than a car door.

My prediction: the finding will be that the aircraft flew normal flight into the side of a mountain, as commanded by the "flight computer." The pilots did not notice the descent because they were not paying attention or missed the chime that told them the autopilot had changed regimes.
Cut and past appropriate jargon as necessary, but beyond some control being on the wrong setting, my money is on CFIT.

It's incredible how archaic this technology is, with the multitude of planes going down or disappearing without a trace you'd think they could come up with something better. For example, something that has automatic deploying airbags to bring it to the surface if the plane sinks.
